Welcome to Chicory Cottage - an exceptional family escape in the heart of Door County!

Our newly remodeled luxury vacation home is located in the Kangaroo Lake neighborhood, one of the most sought-after and desirable areas of Door County. Nestled among the trees and just a short walk to Kangaroo Lake public access, Chicory Cottage is the perfect Door County escape. We created Chicory Cottage for families, friends, and couples who desire to be minutes from all of the attractions Door County has to offer, but also long to escape to a private retreat.

Door County is a world-class vacation destination, and we truly believe that Chicory Cottage has every ingredient necessary to make lasting, generational vacation memories. Relax together with a few glasses of wine as you listen to some vinyl records. Have breakfast or read a good book on our screened-in porch. Enjoy some friendly competition in our game room, or walk to Kangaroo lake and explore on the provided paddle boards. Chat and reminisce next to our fire table, or spend precious family evenings cozying up to a roaring bonfire. With all three bedrooms on one level, an indoor gas fireplace, a private outdoor entertaining space, and a game room complete with children's toys, bumper pool and shuffleboard, Chicory Cottage is the perfect place to make memories for all ages and seasons.

A word about our cleaning protocols….We have a larger family, and we stay in multiple vacation rentals a year. We know, firsthand, how the cleanliness of a rental can make or break your hard-earned vacation. Unlike most vacation rentals, at Chicory Cottage we wash/change-out all duvet covers, extra blankets, living room throw blankets, and living room throw pillow covers between every guest, in addition to all the typical bed sheets and pillowcases. We take cleaning very seriously and our process is extremely extensive because we know that your relaxation and enjoyment depends on it.

Years ago, on our first trip to Kangaroo Lake, someone shared their home with us. This began our goal of creating a memorable vacation home to share the magic of Door County and the Kangaroo Lake area with others. Our home is owner-managed and cared for because we believe that you deserve the highest level of guest experience, cleanliness, and peace-of-mind during your vacation. We genuinely look forward to hosting you and sharing our little slice of Door County!

★★★Please read our entire listing including our house rules. We require a signed rental agreement, waiver of liability, and a $300 credit card security deposit hold for all bookings. The name used to book the reservation must match that on the credit card and the signed rental agreement. The rental agreement and security deposit hold must be completed within 72 hours of booking (within 24 hours if arrival date is less than 3 days from time of booking.) or the reservation will be canceled. Our home is located in a quiet community with neighbors and is geared towards quiet family/friends vacations. We cannot accommodate bachelor or bachelorette parties, reunions or other rowdy gatherings. Many of the requirements in our house rules are dictated by our local town's short term rental ordinance and are beyond our control.★★★

Located in the quiet and highly sought-after Kangaroo Lake neighborhood, but NOT direct lakefront. Our outdoor entertainment space looks out over a wooded lot, providing excellent privacy.

Primary Bedroom: Includes King bed, Smart TV, walk-in closet with hangers, extra pillows & blankets, room darkening curtains, and ensuite bathroom.
Second King Bedroom: Includes King bed, Smart TV, closet, hangers, extra pillows & blankets, and room darkening curtains and shades.
Queen Bedroom: Includes Queen bed, Smart TV, closet, hangers, extra pillows & blankets and room darkening curtains.
Living Room: includes a pull-out sofa bed (Queen sized mattress).

KITCHEN AMENITIES:
The brand-new kitchen is equipped with a refrigerator, microwave, stove, dishwasher, oven, toaster, crock pot and blender. A traditional coffee maker/Keurig combo, coffee bean grinder and tea kettle are also provided. Also available are pots and pans, kitchen towels, hot pads, baking pans, baking sheets and BBQ utensils. Dishes, utensils, glassware, wine glasses, and additional barware are also on site.

BATHROOMS:
Ensuite bathroom with walk-in shower, double vanity and hair dryer. Shower includes a classic, handheld and rain showerheads.
Full hall bathroom with shower/tub combination and hair dryer.

Public, sandy swimming areas: Walk to Kangaroo Lake swimming area (0.3 miles away - West shore of Kangaroo Lake at the east end of Kangaroo Beach Road) and 3.0 miles away (Anclam Swimming Beach on Lake Michigan)
0.5 mile walk to Kangaroo Lake Causeway (Popular Kangaroo Lake fishing area).
Kangaroo Lake Public Boat Launch is located 2.8 miles away along the east shore of Kangaroo Lake on 7563 S Kangaroo Lake Drive

OTHER AMMENITIES:
Bed linens, pillows, blankets, bath towels, kitchen towels, beach towels, and hair dryers are provided.
We supply paper products including two rolls of paper towels for the kitchen and six rolls of toilet paper per bathroom. We also supply hand soap, dish soap, dishwasher soap, laundry detergent and garbage bags.
We supply one small, travel-size shampoo, conditioner and body wash per full bathroom. We recommend that you bring shower essentials for stays longer than two nights.

Pack n Play (2 fitted sheets available) and classic highchair.

*Due to health and safety guidelines all pantry items must be removed between guests. Please bring cooking essentials you might need such as cooking oil/spray, aluminum foil, baggies, salt, pepper and other spices, sugar, etc. Due to Wisconsin health and safety regulations, we do not supply these items.

Cancellation Policy: One hundred percent (100.00%) of the total booking charges will be refunded if the cancellation is made more than 30 days prior to the arrival date of the reservation. Fifty percent (50.00%) of the total booking charges will be refunded if the cancellation is made more than 14 days prior to the arrival date of the reservation. For cancellations made within 14 days prior to the arrival date, no refund will be issued.
