Our newly remodeled Kangaroo lakefront vacation home is located on a private road, just adjacent to the historic Kangaroo Lake causeway. Surrounded by calming waters and gorgeous lake views, Chicory Lake House is the perfect Door County retreat. Watch the Mergansers swim directly off the lakeside deck and patio, fish from the pier, or explore the lake on the provided kayaks and paddle boards. Wake up to direct views of the lake and spend evenings cozying up to a roaring lakeside bonfire. With all three bedrooms on one level, a gas fireplace, a large yard for outdoor games, and a game room complete with bumper pool and shuffleboard, Chicory Lake House is the perfect place to make memories for all ages and seasons.

Nestled among the reeds and mature trees on Kangaroo Lake's shoreline, Chicory Lake House feels like a true escape, yet it is just minutes from everything that Door County has to offer. Walk across the road to enjoy a local favorite - Coyote Roadhouse, or take the short drive to all the towns that make Door County a world-class vacation destination. We truly believe that Kangaroo Lake has every ingredient necessary to make lasting, generational vacation memories.

A word about our cleaning protocols….We have a larger family that stays in multiple vacation rentals a year. We know, firsthand, how the cleanliness of a rental can make or break your vacation. Unlike most vacation rentals, we wash/change-out all duvet covers, extra blankets, living room throw blankets, and living room throw pillow covers between every guest, in addition to all the typical bed sheets and pillowcases. Our cleaning process is extremely extensive because we know that your relaxation and enjoyment depends on it.

Years ago, on our first trip to Kangaroo Lake, someone shared their home with us. This began our goal of creating an exceptional and memorable vacation home to share the magic of Kangaroo Lake with others. We self-manage Chicory Lake House because we believe that you deserve the highest level of guest experience and peace-of-mind during your vacation. ★★★Please read our entire listing including our house rules. We require a signed rental agreement, waiver of liability, and a $300 credit card security deposit hold for all bookings. The name used to book the reservation must match that on the credit card and the signed rental agreement. The rental agreement and security deposit hold must be completed within 72 hours of booking (within 24 hours if arrival date is less than 3 days from time of booking.) or the reservation will be canceled. Our home is in a quiet community with neighbors and is geared towards quiet family vacations. We cannot accommodate bachelor or bachelorette parties, reunions or other rowdy gatherings. Located directly on Kangaroo lake – one of the most highly sought-after locations in Door County.

Primary Lakeside Bedroom: Includes Queen bed, Smart TV, hangers, extra pillows & blankets and room darkening shades, private entry to lakeside deck and ensuite bathroom
Second Lakeside Bedroom: Includes Queen bed, Smart TV, hangers, extra pillows & blankets and room darkening shades
Twin Bedroom: Includes 2 Twin beds, Smart TV, hangers, extra pillows & blankets and room darkening shades
Living Room: includes a pull-out sofa bed (Queen sized memory foam mattress)

BATHROOMS:
Ensuite full bathroom with dual vanity and walk-in shower. Shower includes a classic, handheld and rain showerheads. Bath towels and hair dryer provided.
Full hall bathroom with shower/tub combination and hair dryer.

KITCHEN AMENITIES:
The modern kitchen is equipped with a refrigerator w/ice maker, microwave, stove, dishwasher, oven, toaster, crock pot and blender.
Traditional coffee maker, Keurig, coffee bean grinder and tea kettle are also provided.
Also available are pots and pans, kitchen towels, hot pads, baking sheets and BBQ utensils.
Dishes, utensils, glassware, wine glasses, and additional barware are also on site.

the average electric vehicle overnight.

WATER ACCESS:
Easy, direct water access from the property.

SWIMMING CONDITIONS: Fishing shoreline with reeds and rock bottom. Water shoes recommended. Typical of most inland Wisconsin lakes, swimmers itch occasionally occurs, but is unpredictable. We recommend vigorously toweling off or showering after swimming.

Water depth: 4-5 ft at end of dock – No diving or jumping from pier allowed.
Public, sandy swimming areas: 0.7 miles away (west shore of Kangaroo Lake on Kangaroo Beach Road) and 2.5 miles away (Anclam Swimming Beach on Lake Michigan)
Kangaroo Lake Public Boat Launch is located 2.8 miles away along the east shore of Kangaroo Lake on 7563 S Kangaroo Lake Drive

OTHER AMMENITIES:
Bed linens, pillows, blankets, bath towels, kitchen towels, beach towels, and hair dryers are provided.
We supply paper products including two rolls of paper towels for the kitchen and six rolls of toilet paper per bathroom. We also supply hand soap, dish soap, dishwasher soap, laundry detergent and garbage bags.
We supply one small, travel-size shampoo, conditioner and body wash per full bathroom. We recommend that you bring shower essentials for stays longer than two nights.

Pack n Play (2 fitted sheets available) and classic highchair.

*Due to health and safety guidelines all pantry items must be removed between guests. Please bring cooking essentials you might need such as cooking oil/spray, aluminum foil, baggies, salt, pepper and other spices, sugar, etc. Due to Wisconsin health and safety regulations, we do not supply these items.

Cancellation Policy: One hundred percent (100.00%) of the total booking charges will be refunded if the cancellation is made more than 30 days prior to the arrival date of the reservation. Fifty percent (50.00%) of the total booking charges will be refunded if the cancellation is made more than 14 days prior to the arrival date of the reservation. For cancellations made within 14 days prior to the arrival date, no refund will be issued.
